Weekend closures lifted on I-94/I-694 in Brooklyn Center
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Shortly before 9 p.m. this evening, the Minnesota Department of Transportation reopened both eastbound and westbound I-94/I-694 between Highway 252 and Highway 169 in Brooklyn Center. Both directions of the interstate were closed his weekend to allow construction crews to examine the ramp bridge substructure and make any needed repairs on the ramp from westbound I-94/I-694 to southbound Hwy 100 in Brooklyn Center, a second weekend of closures will allow workers to examine the ramp bridge substructure and make any needed repairs.
At the same time, the ramp from southbound Hwy 252 to westbound I-94/I-694 reopened along with all ramps to and from the interstate between Highway 100 and Highway 169 along with the ramps and loops at:
- Shingle Creek Pkwy
- Brooklyn Blvd (Hwy 152)
- County Road 81 (Bottineau Blvd)
- Boone Ave
- Hwy 169 to eastbound I-94/I-694; and
- Westbound I-94/I-694 to Highway 169
The ramp bridge from westbound I-94/I-694 to southbound Highway 100 closed Friday, June 4 and will remain closed until about 5 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 2. During the closure, northbound Highway 100 will remain open. However, all traffic from I-94/I-694 to southbound Highway 100 will detour south on Highway 169, east on I-394 and north on Highway 100.
The project includes replacing the bridge deck on the ramp from westbound I-694 to southbound Highway 100 and repair and resurfacing on the ramp from southbound Highway 252 to westbound I-94/I-694. The work also includes repairs and resurfacing at each end of the ramp bridge along with drainage improvements and shoulder repair.
Weather permitting, all work will be completed by late August.
