MnDOT pauses construction on Hwy 1 in Thief River Falls due to unfavorable weather conditions
Project resumes Tuesday, June 1
BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation will resume resurfacing Highway 1 from Thief River Falls to Goodridge beginning Tuesday, June 1. The project has paused for the long weekend due to unfavorable weather conditions. Crews will complete the project that began in 2020. Remaining work to be completed:
- Continuation of the final lift of bituminous pavement on the western limits of the project
- Minor grading
- Rumble strip installation
- Permanent striping
Unfavorable weather conditions has caused crews to stop the project until Tuesday, June 1, when temperatures are more favorable. The project is expected to be completed by mid-June.
Motorists can expect lane closures, flaggers and pilot car operations. MnDOT urges motorists to use caution, pay attention and slow down in work zones.
