MnDOT, WisDOT looking for comments, feedback on Blatnik Bridge project
DULUTH, Minn. — How do you feel about lighting on the Blatnik Bridge? Do you envision a fancier or simpler looking bridge? Do you think there needs to be a bike/ped path along it? Is having a view of the city skyline from the bridge important? Should MnDOT and WisDOT fix and rebuild within the footprint of the existing bridge, or build a new bridge adjacent to the current structure?
MnDOT and WisDOT welcome any and all feedback on the upcoming Blatnik Bridge project.
The two departments of transportation have developed a draft purpose and need statement on the Blatnik Bridge project and are asking for the public’s input on it. The purpose and need statement is part of environmental documentation, focuses on the problems and not the solutions for the project, and is used as a guide to evaluate and select alternatives. The document can be found on the project webpage.
The public can comment on the project webpage, through email at email@example.com or in writing to Pat Huston, 1123 Mesaba Ave., Duluth, MN 55811. Comments on or before Jan. 19 will be recorded for the purpose and need statement.
