ROSEVILLE, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation will begin cleaning and resurfacing of three bridge decks crossing Highway 280 in St. Paul and Roseville at 8 p.m. on Monday, August 3. Flood seal resurfacing of the Wabash Avenue bridge over Highway 280 in St. Paul will require a closure and detour to Franklin Avenue. Work on the University Avenue bridge in St. Paul and the northbound Highway 280 ramp over southbound Highway 280 in the commons section of I-35W and Highway 36 in Roseville will require lane closures.
Crews will work each night from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m., Monday through Saturday, for approximately two weeks. The project is expected to be complete by Monday, August 17, weather permitting.
During the work, motorists are advised to use alternate routes if possible to avoid congestion and delays.
Flood sealing is the application of a thin coating of asphalt to the bridge surface to fill and seal minor cracks to improve the pavement surface and extend the pavement life.
