Environmental Assessment released for the Hwy 10/169 improvement project Anoka
Public meeting set for Wednesday, Sept. 18
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation invites the public to attend an Environmental Assessment open house on proposed improvements to approximately 1.5 miles of Highway 10 between the city borders of Anoka and Ramsey to just east of the Highway 10/169 interchange at Main Street and Greenhaven Road in Anoka. The EA/EAW outlines the project’s need, purpose and anticipated social, economic and environmental impacts. It also identifies mitigation measures to lessen the impacts of the project.
The project is being constructed to address safety and congestion concerns and includes the following primary components: replace the existing traffic signal at Thurston Avenue with a grade-separated interchange; replace the existing traffic signal at Fairoak Avenue with an underpass; reconstruct the existing interchange at Main Street/Greenhaven Road; improve local road connections including frontage roads; limit direct access to Highway 10/169; and improve non-motorized connections and safety throughout the corridor. The project is being led by the city of Anoka in partnership with MnDOT.

The open house is scheduled on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Green Haven Golf Course and Banquet Center, 2800 Greenhaven Road in Anoka. There will not be a formal presentation.
The open house is an opportunity for citizens to learn about the proposed project, make comments and ask questions. Along with displays about the project, staff from MnDOT, Anoka County and the city of Anoka will be available to answer questions.
The 30-day public comment period begins Monday, September 2, 2019, and ends Wednesday, October 2, 2019. Individuals or representatives of organizations are encouraged to submit written comments on the Environmental Assessment document through Oct. 2, 2019.
