Lane closures to begin on eastbound I-94 from Rogers to Maple Grove Aug. 4
ROSEVILLE, Minn. — Motorists using Interstate 94 between Highway 101 in Rogers and Weaver Lake Road in Maple Grove will see eastbound I-94 reduced to two lanes from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly, Sunday – Thursday nights, beginning Sunday, Aug. 4 through early September.
Crews will add temporary lanes to help traffic flow on I-94 between Maple Grove and Rogers when a larger construction project starts next year. Motorists will see similar lane closures and work on I-94 westbound starting early September.
This work is part of a larger project to improve a 39-mile stretch of I-94 between Maple Grove and Clearwater. Improvements across four different work areas along I-94 will be made to add travel lanes, rebuild bridges, improve drainage, and resurface deteriorating pavement. A new interchange on I-94 near Dayton will also be built. When completed, the project will reduce congestion, improve safety, improve freight movement, enhance economic vitality, and provide a smoother ride for users of I-94. Work will take place between 2019 and 2021.
