Southbound Interstate 35E closes again this weekend for joint repair between Columbus and Vadnais Heights

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Southbound Interstate 35E will close again this weekend to complete repairs on concrete pavement joints between the I-35E/I-35W split in Columbus and Ramsey County Road 96 in Vadnais Heights. If the weather cooperates, crews will begin closing all ramps along the southbound interstate at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12. The southbound roadway will fully close by 8 p.m. and will reopen by 5 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 15. During the closure, there will be no access to the southbound interstate in the project area, although roadways will remain open across I-35E.

While the southbound interstate is closed, I-35E motorists will be directed to follow the posted detour of southbound I-35W, eastbound Hwy 10 and eastbound I-694 to I-35E.

Concrete pavement joints in this area are being repaired to correct problems since the old blacktop surface was removed and replaced with a nine-inch concrete surface in 2011.

Thank you in advance for your patience during this quick repair project.
