I-35 off-peak daytime lane closures near Harris begin Sept. 5

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will encounter off-peak daytime lane closures on I-35 between Harris and the Chisago/Pine County line as crews begin preliminary road work at 7 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 5, weather permitting.

Crews will construct temporary crossovers and emergency pullovers for an upcoming concrete road resurfacing project in 2019. Motorists are advised to slow down and pay attention through construction zones. The off-peak lane closures will continue through late-fall.

A larger construction project on I-35 between Harris and the Pine County line is scheduled to begin in spring 2019. The work will include concrete road resurfacing, installing rumble strips, removing and replacing cable median barriers, updating drainage and replacing lighting at the Rush City interchange. The improvements will improve ride quality, enhance safety and traffic flow.
