Ramsey County Road I, new roundabout and northbound I-35W ramp to County Road I now open in Arden Hills

ROSEVILLE, Minn. — Although the Thanksgiving holiday is not usually associated with gifts, Ramsey County and MnDOT teamed up to deliver a gift to drivers in Arden Hills this afternoon. County Road I, the new County Road I roundabout and the ramp from northbound Interstate 35W to County Road I opened to traffic around 6 p.m. this evening, just in time for holiday travel.

Improvements on Ramsey County Road I near Rice Creek Parkway and Old Highway 8 east of I-35W in Arden Hills and Shoreview began in late June. The construction required closing the ramp from northbound I-35W to County Road I and permanently closing and removing the ramp from County Road I to northbound I-35W.

The project also included construction of a roundabout at the ramp from I-35W northbound, Rice Creek Parkway and Old Highway 8 which leads in to the Arden Hills Driver Services facility and the Minnesota Department of Administration Fleet and Surplus Property building. In addition, Ramsey County improved trail access, built raised medians and new road shoulders and constructed a new roadway between County Road H and County Road I on the east side of the freeway.
