Environmental Assessment released for proposed third lane on eastbound Hwy 10 in Arden Hills

Public meeting set for Wednesday, November 8

ROSEVILLE, Minn. — The Minnesota Department of Transportation invites the public to attend an Environmental Assessment open house on proposed improvements to eastbound Highway 10 between Interstate 35W and Ramsey County Road 96 in Arden Hills. The EA outlines the project’s purpose and anticipated social, economic, and environmental impacts.
MnDOT proposes to build a third lane along eastbound Highway 10 from the exit ramp off southbound Interstate 35W to Ramsey County Road 96 in 2018. The new auxiliary lane would help reduce congestion and improve safety along the eastbound highway. The work includes building a new acceleration lane for Scherer Brothers Lumber Company to replace the existing lane and straightening Prior Avenue at eastbound Highway 10. Additional features include a storm water drainage pond and possible noise walls.

Property owners who would benefit from the proposed noise walls are currently voting on whether or not to build them.

The open house is scheduled on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017 from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Arden Manor Recreation Center, 4605 Prior Avenue, Arden Hills. There will not be a formal presentation.

A court reporter will be available to take verbal comments and comment cards will be available for people who wish to provide written comments for the public record. An Interpreter will be available for those who speak Spanish.

The open house is an opportunity for citizens to learn about the proposed project, make comments and ask questions. Along with displays about the project, staff from MnDOT, Ramsey County and the city of Arden Hills will be available to answer questions.
