Seven-day closure of 11th St. at Hwy 97 in Forest Lake scheduled Sept. 5-12
ROSEVILLE, Minn. — Motorists will encounter a week-long closure at the intersection of Highway 97 and 11th Street in Forest Lake. Beginning at 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 5, access to Highway 97 from 11th Street will temporarily close for culvert installation. Highway 97 will remain open to traffic in both directions. However, motorists will not be able to access Highway 97 from 11th Street. Motorists will be directed to follow the posted detour to 15th Avenue, 8th Street to Highway 97.
In addition, single lane traffic on Highway 97 will continue between Goodview Avenue North and Harrow Avenue.
Access from 11th Street to Highway 97 will re-open on Tuesday, Sept. 12, weather permitting.
The closure is part of Highway 97 safety improvement construction. Crews are converting an existing bypass lane into a dedicated left turn lane at the 11th Street intersection. The project is expected to be complete by mid-Oct., weather permitting. Once the work is completed, the improvements will enhance safety, provide better access and traffic flow in the corridor.
