Hwy 97/Scandia Trail N. at 11th St. construction in Forest Lake begins Aug. 28
ROSEVILLE, Minn. — Motorists will encounter a lane closure, traffic shift and possible flagging at the intersection of Highway 97 and 11th Street in Washington County as crews begin a safety improvement project.
Beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 28, traffic will be reduced to a single lane on Highway 97 between Goodview Avenue North and Harrow Avenue in Forest Lake. Crews will begin converting an existing bypass lane into a dedicated left turn lane at the 11th Street intersection. At times, motorists may also encounter flaggers to assist in moving traffic safely through the work zone.
In addition, a seven-day closure is scheduled to begin the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 5 at the intersection of 11th Street and Highway 97 for culvert installation. Motorists will be directed to follow the posted detours listed below:
Eastbound: 8th Street, 15th Avenue to 11th Street
Westbound: Highway 97, 8th Street, 15th Avenue, to 11th Street
The project is expected to be complete by mid-Oct., weather permitting.
Once the work is completed, the improvements will enhance safety, provide better access and traffic flow in the corridor.
