Rural Intersection Conflict Warning System Reliability Evaluation
Project Description
This reliability evaluation project was a result of the Minnesota Department of Transportation developing a RICWS deployment project to reduce crashes at rural stop-controlled intersections. The RICWS project will deploy up to 50 of these systems within the state.
The first RICWS site, TH 7 and Carver CSAH 33, needed to be evaluated for a minimum period of 30 days to demonstrate the reliability of the system. The University of Minnesota was selected to perform this evaluation.
