History and significance
Built in 1958, Bridge 9407 carries County Road 16 over U.S. Highway 63 in Olmsted County. The bridge is significant as an example of the earliest period of use and evolution for prestressed concrete girders in the state. Prestressed concrete represents a significant advance in construction materials and was first used by the Minnesota Highway Department in 1957.
