Highway 212 Montevideo to Granite Falls project nearly complete
WILLMAR, Minn. – The Highway 212 Montevideo to Granite Falls resurfacing project, which began July 9, 2018, will be completed and the road opened to traffic on Friday, Sept. 14, 2018. There may a few final work tasks done under traffic through next week.
The project involved the resurfacing of Highway 212 from the intersection of Highway 29 in Montevideo to just east of the west junction of Highway 67 (west end of the bridge) by Granite Falls. The project included a culvert replacement and the lining of existing culverts. The road also received a chip seal application to enhance safety and prevent deterioration of the pavement surface.
Benefits of the project include a smoother road surface, improved drainage and enhanced safety. The cost of the project was $3.6 million. The prime contractor was Duininck Inc.
