Recent rains causing flooding on some southern Minnesota highways
WILLMAR, Minn. — Recent rains are causing flooding on some southern Minnesota highways. The sections of highway noted below are currently open to traffic, but there is water over the road. The Minnesota Department of Transportation is currently assessing the situation and will provide updates as information becomes available.
Highways with water over the road include the following:
- Hwy 30 between Hadley and Lake Wilson
- Hwy 91 near Chandler
- Hwy 267 between Slayton and Iona
MnDOT warns motorists that driving through water is dangerous. Vehicles can be swept away in only several inches of moving water. Motorists are encouraged to check 511mn.org for the latest road information.
