Hwy 22 and Hwy 55 projects begin May 7
WILLMAR, Minn. – The Highway 22 and Highway 55 projects are scheduled to begin Monday, May 7, 2018. Both projects will be completed under traffic utilizing alternating lane closures. Both projects have a width limit of 12 feet. Work on ADA improvements in Eden Valley as well as pipe work on Highway 22 will start first. Motorists can expect paving to start in mid-June. During paving motorists should anticipate short delays.
The Highway 22 project includes the resurfacing of Highway 22 from Highway 12 to Highway 55. Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements are planned along Highway 22. Benefits of the project include a smoother road surface as well as increased accessibility for individuals with disabilities. The estimated project cost is $2.7 million.
The Highway 55 project includes the resurfacing of Highway 55 from the Eden Valley/Meeker County line to the Stearns county line as well as Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements along Highway 55. Benefits of the project include a smoother road surface as well as increased accessibility for individuals with disabilities. The estimated project cost is $2.1 million.
Both projects are scheduled to be complete by July 31, 2018. Knife River is the contractor for both projects.
