Public open house for Hwy 19 and Hwy 68 bridge projects to be held in Marshall

WILLMAR, Minn. – MnDOT is hosting an open house on Wednesday, April 11 from 4:30-6 pm at Marshall City Hall – Second Floor, former Council Chambers (366 West Main Street) in Marshall to discuss the upcoming Highway 19 and Highway 68 bridge projects. 

The Highway 19 bridge project includes the rehabilitation of the historic bridge on Highway 19 over the Redwood River, north of the intersection of Highway 59 and Highway 68 in Marshall. The sidewalk will be upgraded to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements.  Benefits of the project include a smoother surface, enhanced safety, compliance with ADA standards and the preservation of a historic structure.  The estimated project cost is $660,000.

The Highway 68 bridge project includes the resurfacing of the bridge on Highway 68 over the Redwood River Diversion Channel, north of Hwy 59, bridge rail replacement and end post replacement.  Benefits of the project include a smoother surface as well as enhanced safety.  The estimated project cost is $290,000.

Both projects are scheduled to begin in April, weather permitting, and will be completed in mid-June. PCi Roads is the contractor for both bridges.
