Second open house scheduled for Hwy 23 New London safety assessment

WILLMAR, Minn. –   Area residents, business owners and others are invited to attend an open house on Tuesday, October 3 to learn about the Highway 23 New London safety assessment.

The open house will be held from 5 to 7 pm at Peace Lutheran Church (100 4th Ave. SW) in New London.  A presentation will take place at 5:30 pm.  Information on what’s been heard from the public as well as potential safety strategies will be shared.
Individuals not able to make the open house are encouraged to visit the web site at mndot.gov/d8/projects/hwy23nlsafetyassessment/ to learn more about the project and to sign up for project updates.  A video of the presentation will be posted after the open house for those not able to attend.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation and its partners, the City of New London, Kandiyohi County and New London Township are conducting a safety assessment to evaluate the current and future performance of Highway 23 and develop short and long term strategies to manage the corridor now and in the future.
