Highway 7 and US 71/roundabout projects start June 12

WILLMAR, Minn. – The Highway 7 and US 71/roundabout projects start Monday, June 12. The Highway 7 project includes the resurfacing of Highway 7 from the intersection of US 71/Highway 7 to Clara City (16.4 miles). Due to the extensive resurfacing work this project will require a detour. There will be two stages to the detour. The first will run June 12 to July 5. The second will run July 5 to Sept.1. Maps of both detours are below.

Construction of the roundabout at the intersection of Highway 7 and US 71 will also begin on June 12. This project will be constructed under traffic. US 71 will remain open.

MnDOT asks motorists to slow down and pay attention while driving through work zones. Motorists who speed through a work zone or who disobey work zone flaggers face a $300 fine.
