Open house for Highway 12 Downtown Litchfield project set for June 26

WILLMAR, Minn. – The first open house for the 2019 Highway 12 Downtown Litchfield project is set for Monday, June 26 at the Litchfield City Hall (126 North Marshall Ave. Litchfield, MN). The open house will run from 4:30-6 pm with a presentation starting promptly at 5:00 pm and will include a live polling activity to gather feedback. The public will also have the opportunity to learn more about the Section 106 process and ask questions on the project process.

MnDOT will reconstruct four blocks of Highway 12 and Highway 22 through downtown from Commercial Street to 4th Street. The project includes the reconstruction of the existing sidewalks from building face to building face. Pedestrian crossings will be updated to meet Americans with Disabilities standards.

Since much of the Highway 12 reconstruction project is located within and near the Litchfield Historic Commercial District and other historic properties, the Section 106 review process is a crucial component to the project.

For those unable to attend the public open house an on-line survey will be available. For more information on the project visit the webpage at www.dot.state.mn.us/d8/projects/hwy12litchfield.
