Construction open house for Hwy 22 project to be held April 6 in Litchfield

WILLMAR, Minn. – MnDOT is hosting a construction open house on Thursday, April 6 from 4-6 pm at the Meeker County Courthouse – Community Room A (325 N Sibley Ave.) in Litchfield to discuss the upcoming Highway 22 project.

The start date for the project, which includes the resurfacing of Highway 22 from the Jct of Highway 7 and Highway 22 to Pleasure Drive in Litchfield, has been moved up, at the request of the contractor to April 17.

In addition to the resurfacing of the road, two culverts will be replaced and turning lanes will be constructed.  Knife River is the contractor on the project.

With an earlier start date the project, weather permitting, would be finished before July 4 and Watercade festivities.

The Highway 22 project will require a detour. The detour route will take motorists on Highway 7 to Meeker CR 1 north to 5th St. to the intersection of Highway 12 and Highway 22.

Staff from MnDOT District 8 and Knife River will be present to answer questions on the construction project.  Visit www.dot.state.mn.us/d8/projects/hwy22litchfield.
