MnDOT provides update on Henderson area closures

MnDOT prepares for Highway 19 to Henderson closure while Highway 93 may re-open, then close

MANKATO, Minn. – (3 p.m.) The Minnesota Department of Transportation advises Monday morning (Sept. 24) motorists in the Henderson/Le Sueur area of a number of potential closures.

Highway 93 between Henderson and Highway 169 remains closed at this time due to flooding on the Rush River.  The Rush River is expected to subside over the weekend and MnDOT will reopen Highway 93 when it is safe for motorists.  However, the Minnesota River is expected to flood in the Henderson area which will likely close Highway 93, again, early in the week.

Highway 19 from Henderson to Highway 169 is anticipated to close on Sunday or Monday due to forecasted flooding on the Minnesota River.

Construction is scheduled for the Highway 93/Sibley County Road 8 interchange between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday resulting in the closure of the exit and on ramps for Highway 169 southbound.  Remaining work includes grading, guardrail and striping.
