Hwy 169 in Mankato reduced to single lane for storm sewer inspections starting July 23
MANKATO, Minn. — Motorists who travel Hwy 169 from Hawley Street in Mankato to Webster Avenue in North Mankato will encounter intermittent single-lane closures starting Monday, July 23.
The single-lane closures for northbound and southbound traffic on Hwy 169 will be in place Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., for approximately two weeks.
During the lane closures, crews will perform cleaning and video inspection of storm sewers in the area.
Due to recent heavy rainfall, a sinkhole formed on Hwy 169 on June 28. Maintenance crews established a temporary fix, and information found during the upcoming inspections will verify necessary repairs as well as detect any additional issues.
The Hwy 169 crossover construction project (mndot.gov/d7/projects/hwy169mankato) also starts on July 23, north of the planned storm sewer inspections. MnDOT urges motorists to slow down, drive with caution and watch for workers, equipment and traffic control devices in the area.
