Hwy 169/Hwy 14 crossover construction starts July 23 in Mankato
MANKATO, Minn. — Construction will begin on the Hwy 169/Hwy 14 crossover in Mankato on Monday, July 23.
During construction, the inside northbound and southbound lanes of Hwy 169 will be closed, reducing both directions to single-lane traffic. The single-lane closures will span from West Lind Street to Lake Street Northwest.
Motorists will also encounter periodic ramp closures with detours, which can be found on the project website at mndot.gov/d7/projects/hwy169mankato.
Work at the crossover of Hwy 169 and Hwy 14 includes resurfacing the pavement. This project is part of the work being done in conjunction with the Mankato/North Mankato Levee project scheduled to start late August, which will raise the grade of Hwy 169 to bring the levee up to current FEMA standards.
RAM Excavating, Inc., of Winsted, MN, was awarded the Hwy 169/Hwy 14 crossover project with a bid of $637,279.30.
Additional construction is currently underway on Hwy 169 north of this project, between St. Peter and Le Sueur (mndot.gov/d7/projects/hwy169), and on Hwy 14 in Mankato (mndot.gov/d7/projects/hwy14mankato).
