I-90 bridge replacement projects open house set March 12 in Nodine

NODINE, Minn. — The Minnesota Department of Transportation invites the public to an open house on Thursday, March 12 in Nodine to learn more about the replacement of two bridges on Interstate 90 this summer.

The meeting is an opportunity for residents and motorists to learn about the project timelines, detours and how to stay connected to information about the project. The project team, including MnDOT, will be available from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the New Hartford Township Hall at 42774 Co Rd 12, Dakota, MN 55925. During the open house, people may drop by at any time to talk with the project manager and others. Maps and information will be available for review.

A MnDOT contractor will be replacing the Interstate 90 bridge at Nodine, exit 267. The new bridge will be built adjacent to the current bridge, so the bridge will remain open through much of the construction work. The westbound I-90 entrance ramp will be extended, and the right-turn lane to eastbound I-90 entrance ramp will be installed as well. Further east, the I-90 eastbound bridge over Dakota Valley Road will be replaced. A temporary bypass will be constructed next to the existing bridge to maintain a single lane of traffic while bridge demolition and construction occur. Dakota Valley Road will be temporarily closed during construction.

I-90 will remain open to traffic during the projects. Single lane traffic will be established in the work zones with reduced speeds. The projects will run from May through October this year.
