Hwy 80 reopened after culvert replacement near Hwy 52, Fountain, detour planned for paving
ROCHESTER, Minn. — Highway 80 traffic has reopened for traffic on Friday, Oct. 18 after crews replaced a culvert about 2 miles west of Hwy 52 near Fountain, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Traffic may use the highway, but motorists should be alert for paving work next week that is expected to close and detour the highway for about two days. MnDOT will announce the paving date and when the detour is planned.
During the detour, local traffic in Fillmore County may use Hwy 80 to travel to residences and businesses along the highway, but may not travel through. The culvert work is at mile marker 6.7, about 2 miles west of Hwy 52 and Fountain.
MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
