Lane closures, short delays expected during bridge inspections in Winona, Houston counties
WINONA, Minn. – Motorists will encounter Minnesota Department of Transportation bridge inspectors working Oct. 22-25 on the new Highway 43 Winona Bridge, Interstate 90 at the Dresbach Bridge and Highway 76 north of Houston.
On Monday, Oct. 22, inspectors will be on the new Winona Bridge. The sidewalk on the bridge will be closed during the work, but vehicle traffic should not be affected.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 23-24, inspectors will be on the I-90 Dresbach Bridge river crossings. Motorists will encounter moving traffic control with lane closures.
On Thursday, Oct. 25, inspectors will be on Highway 76 north of Houston along Money Creek at three bridge locations. Motorists will encounter flaggers, who will briefly stop traffic, so there will be short delays. Traffic will take turns crossing the bridges under the direction of the flaggers.
Signs, trucks and MnDOT crews will be at each site to ensure the safety of motorists and the inspectors.
MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
