Weeklong Hwy 60 detour planned Oct. 22-26 for culvert replacement near West Albany

ZUMBRO FALLS, Minn. – Highway 60 motorists will be detoured east of Zumbro Falls, weather permitting, beginning Oct. 22 through Oct. 26 for Minnesota Department of Transportation maintenance crews to replace a culvert.

The work on Highway 60 is east of Zumbro Falls. Eastbound traffic will be detoured north on Wabasha County Road 2 to Wabasha County Road 33 east to Wabasha County Road 4 south. The culvert is 1.7 miles east of County Road 2 and west of West Albany. Westbound motorists will follow the detour in reverse order.

Advance warning signs will be in place to alert drivers to the detour and road closure. Residents who live along the closed portion of Highway 60 may access their homes and businesses on either side of the culvert, however there will not be through traffic because the culvert crosses the width of the road and the road will be excavated to install the new culvert.

MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
