Highway 61 lane closures begin Sept. 17 near Kellogg for bridge repairs

KELLOGG, Minn. – Highway 61 motorists near Kellogg will encounter single lane traffic beginning Sept. 17 as Minnesota Department of Transportation bridge maintenance workers conduct repairs on the northbound and southbound bridges over the Zumbro River.

MnDOT bridge crews will be reconstructing bridge joints and removing and replacing concrete on the two bridges. Work is scheduled to be completed Sept. 27. There will be times when no workers are present in the construction zone, because they are waiting for the concrete to reach sufficient strength in its curing process, but the lane closure will remain to ensure safety.

MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
