Expect delays, detour for bridge deck crack sealing in Rochester, Pine Island
ROCHESTER, Minn. – Motorists can expect delays at a Highway 14 Rochester bridge on July 14 and a daylong detour at Pine Island’s Highway 52 bridge on July 18 while Minnesota Department of Transportation crews perform crack sealing work on bridge decks.
Crews will be performing the bridge deck maintenance work on July 14 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the West Circle Drive (Olmsted County Road 22) bridge over Highway 14 on Rochester’s west side, weather permitting. The work will limit traffic on the bridge to a single lane in each direction during the work for the safety of motorists and the workers.
On July 18, crews will be on the Goodhue County Road 11 bridge over Highway 52 at Pine Island. Motorists seeking to cross the bridge will be detoured:
- Motorists on the east side of the bridge wanting to go southbound on Highway 52 can take the east frontage road south to Olmsted County Road 12 and exit onto Highway 52 southbound
- Motorists on the east side of the bridge wanting to cross the bridge can go north on Highway 52 to the Highway 58 exit at Zumbrota and return southbound on Highway 52
- Motorists on the west side wanting to cross the bridge or go northbound can travel southbound on Highway 52 to the next interchange, cross over and proceed north on Highway 52
The detour will be through the day, but if work finishes earlier, crews will remove the detour at that time.
MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
