Hwy 61 bridge replacement project completed near Pickwick in Winona County
PICKWICK, Minn. – All lanes of Highway 61 near Pickwick in Winona County are open now that construction is completed to replace the southbound bridge over Trout Creek, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The new bridge located about a half-mile south of Winona County Road 7 has wider shoulders, a longer right-turn lane and meets current safety standards. Total cost of the project was $1.5 million.
Motorists had encountered lane restrictions and single lane, head-to-head traffic on Highway 61 during construction. Those restrictions were removed this week.
MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
