I-90 Exit 179 ramps, bridge scheduled to reopen Oct. 16 in Austin
AUSTIN, Minn. — I-90 motorists at Exit 179 will be able to use the ramps and cross the newly constructed bridge at 11th Drive Northeast in Austin beginning Monday, Oct. 16, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Three of the four traffic ramps have been closed since September at Exit 179 while crews built the intersections and completed the construction at the new bridge that crosses I-90.
Once the new bridge and ramps are opened on Monday, construction workers will remain on site as the wrap up and clean up, so motorists should remain attentive in the work zone.
The new bridge has two 12-foot lanes, two 8-foot shoulders and a 10-foot sidewalk. Lunda Construction is the prime contractor for the $2.97 million project.

MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
