Lane closures planned for Hwy 61 east of La Crescent for resurfacing project
HOKAH, Minn. – Motorists on Highway 61 from La Crescent to the Wisconsin border will encounter lane closures beginning June 5 as crews resurface the roadway, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Motorists can expect traffic slowdowns through the work zone, especially during the peak travel times before work and after work. Once the resurfacing work is completed in this area, crews will move south on Hwy 16 toward Hokah.
Last month, crews were doing ADA work on sidewalks and ramps in Hokah and culvert and storm sewer repairs around La Crescent.
Mathy Construction is the prime contractor on this $2.4 million project. Work is scheduled to be completed in mid-July.
To learn more about the project or sign up for email updates, go to MnDOT’s project web page at www.mndot.gov/d6/projects/hwy16-44-61-resurfacing/.
Motorists should always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
