MnDOT begins design of 2023 project on Hwy 55, Elbow Lake to Barrett
Highway users asked to take online survey to provide feedback
DETROIT LAKES, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation is requesting feedback via an online survey from residents and other users of Highway 55 from Elbow Lake to Barrett for the design of the 2023 construction project on this road segment. The survey is available online at mndot.gov/d4/projects/elbowlake-barrett and will close at 11:59 p.m., on Friday, April 24.
The 2023 project will include resurfacing, shoulder widening, drainage and access improvements, turn lanes, as well as a potential snow fence.
MnDOT was planning to host an open house this April to meet with residents and other stakeholders, but following guidance from state health officials, public meetings have been temporarily postponed to prevent further spread of COVID-19 and protect the health and well-being of all Minnesotans.
MnDOT invites and encourages participation by all. We believe everyone should have an equal opportunity to enjoy the programs, services and activities we provide. If you are interested in taking the survey but do not have access to the internet and/or need to take the survey in an alternative format, call (218) 846-3627 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, for assistance.
