DELAYED START: Road closure and detour on Highway 7 in Ortonville begins Sept. 3
DETROIT LAKES, Minn. — Starting Tuesday, Sept. 3, weather permitting, motorists traveling on Highway 7 in Ortonville will encounter a road closure and detour, as the City of Ortonville completes sanitary sewer upgrades and water main repairs between Madison Avenue and Monroe Avenue. The work was originally scheduled to begin this week, but has been postponed due to weather.
There will be two detours set up for this closure. Traffic in town will be detoured to Jackson Avenue, First Street NW and Jefferson Avenue. Truck traffic will be routed to County Road 34, Highway 75 and Highway 12.
The work is expected to be completed by Saturday, Sept. 7.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation urges motorists to slow down in work zones and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
