MnDOT hosts open house for proposed Highway 29 Overpass project
Project leaders seek local input on proposed overpass design
DETROIT LAKES, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) will host an open house on Thursday, Dec. 13, from 5 to 7 p.m., to share information and gather feedback on the preliminary design for the proposed Highway 29 Overpass at the junction of Highway 29 and Highway 55. The open house will be held in the first floor Community Room at the Pope County Courthouse.
The proposed overpass would eliminate an “at grade” crossing with the Canadian Pacific railway system and improve safety and congestion issues at the intersection. MnDOT is in the early stages of the project and all comments and feedback received will be used to inform future decisions on the project’s design.
At the open house, the public can review maps and visual displays of the preliminary Highway 29 Overpass design, and the project team will be available to answer questions and explain design components in detail.
