Open house for Highways 59, 119 planning and design study in Appleton scheduled for Oct. 18
DETROIT LAKES, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation is hosting an open house from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at Appleton City Hall (Appleton Civic Center) to discuss improvements to the intersection of Highway 59 and Highway 119.
Since April, representatives from MnDOT, the City of Appleton, Swift County, the Upper Minnesota Valley Regional Development Commission and Lac qui Parle Valley Schools have been working with a consultant team to develop various design concepts to improve the geometric layout of the Highway 59/119 intersection.
The Oct. 18 meeting will provide an opportunity for the public to review and provide input on the design concepts currently under consideration. Representatives of the project team will be available to answer questions and discuss details about the study.
