Hwy 210 - C St./Hwy 25 to N 10th St.

Road closed to all traffic and detoured to reconstruct the railyard segment.

Brainerd is open to those who live, work or visit areas along the closed Hwy 210 work zone.

  • Follow signs; expect gravel or grooved surfaces and side-entrance/sidewalk detours. Here's some tips:
    • Use Co. Rd. 3/Hwy 210 roundabout to access north east Brainerd
    • Use C St. to access B St. businesses north of Hwy 210 between Gillis Ave. and Fifth St.
    • Use 10th Ave. NE or Nelson Dr. (old Eighth Ave.) to access funeral home, businesses and school
      • NOTE: Temporary signal at Hwy 25 and 10th Ave. NE will remain operational until Nelson Dr. opens in early September
    • Use Oak St. to access 13th St. SE - Northern Pacific Center
    • Use 10th St. N to access Kingwood St. - Franklin Arts Center

Building a better Brainerd

MnDOT will reconstruct and improve the Washington St. (Hwy 210) through Brainerd from Baxter Dr. to Pine Shores Rd. in 2026 and 2027.

Hwy 210

  • Reconstruct (mall, railyard, downtown, bridge segments) or resurface (east and west segments) the road
  • Reconstruct curbs, gutters, raised medians and storm sewers
  • Update signal systems
  • Remove signal systems at Mill Ave. and 4th Ave. NE
  • Realign and improve access at the Hwy 210 and Hwy 25/Mill Ave., includes two roundabouts
  • Upgrade city utilities beneath the road
  • Upgrade pedestrian sidewalks and approaches and reconstruct/connect the Cuyuna Lakes Trail
  • Update the Mississippi River bridge
