Open house Jan. 23 for future Hwy 169/210 improvement project from Aitkin to Hassman

BAXTER, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation invites those who travel on Highway 169/210 between Aitkin and Hassman in Aitkin County to attend an open house to learn about a project that will improve the road and bridges along 11 miles of the highway in 2022.

The open house will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, January 23 at the Aitkin Public Library at 110 First Avenue NE. There will not be a formal presentation and guests are invited to arrive anytime. Attendees will have an opportunity to learn about preliminary plans, ask MnDOT staff questions and take home information.

The estimated $14 million project will reconstruct and widen the shoulders on 11 miles of Highway 169/210 from the Ripple River bridge in Aitkin to the Mississippi River bridge north of Hassman. Crews will also reconstruct a bridge over a drainage ditch and replace or repair drainage pipes.

For more details, visit the project website at mndot.gov/d3/projects/aitkin-hassman or contact Luke Wehseler, project manager, at 218-828-5721 or luke.wehseler@state.mn.us.
