Hwy 15 St. Augusta to Kimball closes beginning May 6
St. Cloud, Minn. – Motorists who travel Highway 15 between 66th Avenue in St. Augusta and Highway 55 in Kimball should expect delays and plan their travel after the road is closed beginning Monday, May 6.
Motorists should follow the signed detour along Interstate 94, County Road 7, County Road 44 and Highway 55, or plan their own alternate routes. The detour includes a temporary four-way stop at the County Road 44/County Road 7 intersection in Fairhaven.
All local businesses and residences located along Highway 15 will remain accessible throughout the closure. Motorists should contact local businesses directly to get the best direct route to their individual locations as Highway 15 will be impassable at different locations while crews replace underground pipes.
All lanes of Highway 15 will open in late-July 2019.
The closure and detour are needed while crews reconstruct Highway 15 between 66th Avenue in St. Augusta and Highway 55 in Kimball, replace or repair underground culverts, install new mumble strips and improve accessibility at the Highway 15/County Road 47/County Road 136 intersection in St. Augusta.
When complete, the project will improve the ride along 12 miles of Highway 15, and improve drainage and accessibility.
