Hwy 12 Cokato to Howard Lake lanes close beginning June 25

ST. CLOUD, Minn. — Motorists who travel Hwy 12 between Cokato and Howard Lake may encounter delays as segments of the road are reduced to a single lane beginning Monday, June 25.

The lane closures will occur from sunrise to sunset, up to seven days per week, through June 27, while crews replace guardrail at several locations.

Motorists approaching the daily work zones should slow down, be prepared to stop, and move over to give crews room to work safely. Motorists should also plan some additional time for travel, as delays are expected during peak travel times.

Crews will return in mid-July to resurface Hwy 12 between Cokato and Howard Lake. More information on those lane closures will be issued as details become available.

The lane closures and work are part of a project to resurface and improve five miles of Hwy 12 in Wright County. When complete, the project will provide a smoother ride on Hwy 12 between Seventh Street E in Cokato and 13th Avenue in Howard Lake, extend the life of the road, upgrade guardrail and restripe a short segment of Hwy 12 east of downtown Cokato.
