Open house April 18 for Hwy 10 project through Big Lake, Becker, Clear Lake

Construction, traffic changes begin May 2018

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Those who travel Highway 10 through Sherburne County are encouraged to attend an open house to learn about a major construction project that will improve Highway 10 between Big Lake and Clear Lake in 2018.

The public open house will be held Wednesday, April 18, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the Becker Community Center, 11500 Sherburne Ave.

Open house attendees will be able to learn about the project’s construction details, planned traffic changes and schedule, view large layouts of the project, speak with project staff, get questions answered and take home project information. The open house format is informal, and attendees may arrive at any time.

The project’s first lane closures will begin in May, and be completed in late-October 2018.

The project will reconstruct eastbound Highway 10 between Clear Lake and Big Lake using full-depth reclamation, install a new Reduced Conflict Intersection at the Highway 10/County Road 23 intersection in Becker, extend turn lanes, repair underground pipes and other drainage infrastructure, and improve pedestrian safety and accessibility.

When complete, the project will provide a smoother ride with a long-life pavement along 14 miles of eastbound Highway 10, enhance traffic flow and safety at the Highway 10/County Road 23 intersection, improve drainage along the corridor, and enhance pedestrian accessibility.
