All lanes, intersections, of Hwy 65 near Cambridge to open today
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Motorists who travel Highway 65 through Cambridge and Edgewood, in Isanti County, will find all four new, permanent lanes of Highway 65 open today, November 7. The new lanes are expected to open by 5 p.m.
After the new, permanent lanes of Highway 65 open, motorists will encounter non-rush hour lane and shoulder closures through mid-November while crews complete off-roadway work.
Highway 65 between 305th Avenue/County Road 19 in Edgewood, and 357th Avenue in Cambridge, was reduced to single lane in both directions on July 5, 2017 while crews resurfaced 7 miles of concrete roadway and improved intersections, drainage and other infrastructure.
Crews will return in spring 2018 to resurface and improve Highway 65 between 305th Avenue/County Road 19 in Edgewood, and 245th Ave NE, south of Isanti. Information on 2018’s required lane closures will be issued through the project’s email updates, website and the MnDOT District 3 Twitter account as details become available.
The work and lane closures are part of a two-year project to resurface 14 miles of Highway 65 in Isanti County, extend turn lanes, repair or replace drainage infrastructure, resurface the Highway 65/Highway 95 interchange ramps in Cambridge, make intersection improvements, upgrade signal systems and improve pedestrian accessibility.
When complete in June 2018, the two-year project will improve the ride, drainage and safety along 14 miles of busy state highway serving local and regional motorists.
