Hwy 27 Woodland to east of Isle closes September 18 through mid-October

BAXTER, Minn. – Motorists who travel Highway 27 in Kanabec County may encounter delays and a detour after the road is closed between Highway 65 in Woodland, and Highway 47 near Isle, after 7 a.m. Monday, September 18.

A signed detour will direct motorists along Highway 47, Highway 18, and Highway 65. The detour adds 18 miles to the trip. Residences and other locations along Highway 27 between Highway 47 and Highway 65 will remain accessible either from the east, or from the west, depending on where crews are working.

The closure is needed while crews replace underground pipes that are failing at two locations. Crews will first work on the pipe located just east of the Highway 27/County Road 80/Ivory Street intersection. After that pipe is replaced, crews will replace the pipe located just west of the Highway 27/McGrew Road intersection.

All lanes of Highway 27 between Highway 65 and Highway 47 are scheduled to open by October 16. The schedule is weather dependent.
