Reminder: Hwy 371B/South Sixth Street open house Tuesday, July 25, at Brainerd City Hall

BAXTER, Minn. – Brainerd area residents and businesses are invited to an informational open house for the upcoming Hwy 371B/South Sixth St. construction project which begins this fall between Hwy 210/Washington St. and Joseph St. in Brainerd.

The open house will be held Tue, July 25, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Brainerd City Hall, 501 Laurel St. A short presentation to be given at 7 p.m.

Attendees will learn about the project’s construction plans, tentative detour routes, view large layouts and be able to ask questions and meet with project staff.

The Hwy 371B/South Sixth St. project is scheduled to begin fall 2017. Full reconstruction and detours will begin early spring 2018. When complete in fall 2018, the estimated $7.5 million project will:

  • Reconstruct and redesign the road, side street connections and driveway entrances
  • Upgrade city utilities and infrastructure, including water and sewer systems
  • Improve pedestrian accessibility
  • Upgrade signal systems
  • Install new road signs and overhead LED street lights
