Toward Zero Deaths honors Minnesota state trooper
ST. PAUL, Minn. – Minnesota State Patrol Lt. Brad Norland was among the 10 individuals and organizations honored by Minnesota Toward Zero Deaths for their work to improve traffic safety. The awards were announced at the statewide TZD conference Oct. 26-27 in St. Paul.
Norland received the Enforcement Star Award.
TZD Star Awards are given annually to recognize those who display excellence in enforcement, emergency medical and trauma services, education, engineering, child passenger safety and judicial/court systems. They have shown leadership and creativity in efforts to improve traffic safety throughout the state and build partnerships with others working towards the same goal.
Norland contributes to public safety through his involvement in community education, proactive enforcement and group leadership skills. He builds relationships with the public and encourages and mentors troopers and allied agency members to increase their enforcement efforts to further the TZD mission.
The Minnesota TZD program is an interdisciplinary partnership with the state departments of Health, Transportation and Public Safety.
