Work resumes April 10 on Hwy 23 reconstruction project in West Duluth

DULUTH, Minn. — Work on the Highway 23 reconstruction project in West Duluth resumes Monday, April 10. Motorists will be restricted to a single lane near Freemont Street as crews construct a new storm sewer system from Grand Avenue down Freemont Street.

Within about two weeks construction will resume on Grand Avenue sidewalks. This work will require single lane closures in the area where crews are working.

The entire project is expected to be completed in mid-June.

Project benefits include:

  • Smoother ride surface
  • Improved drainage
  • Improved utilities
  • Pedestrian accessibility and safety improvements

Motorists are asked to be patient and drive carefully near the work zone areas.
