Flagship initiative for Transparency
Transportation Strategic Management and Operations Advisory Task Force Recommendations: The 2008 Minnesota Legislature established the task force to advise the Governor and the Legislature on management and operations strategies that will improve efficiency in transportation. The task force was charged with identifying strategies and making recommendations to improve efficiency.
DBE and Workforce Collaborative: Collaborative group will work to create, develop and retain diverse representation of the workforce and business demographics in Minnesota's transportation industry. Their mission is to have the workforce within the Minnesota transportation industry reflect the demographics of the State of Minnesota. The group is committed to delivering transformational and sustainable change to Minnesota's external Civil Rights program that will benefit all stakeholders, including the public.
Tech Connections: Generated by the E-Magination Jam, this initiative will progress transparency by reaching agency customers through computer-based, collaborative technologies, tools and strategies. The scope of this initiative will be further developed in follow up to the E-Magination Jam.
Build public trust in MnDOT
We will know we have reached this destination when decisions at all levels are consistent with MnDOT's strategic vision, long range transportation plan, investment objectives and an increase of public trust in MnDOT.
To achieve this we will develop a simple and comprehensive tool for measuring performance across functions that is efficient, accurate, cost-effective, and will be made available to the public. We will build relationships with local communities while encouraging public involvement in developing transportation solutions. Lastly, we will effectively tie the strategic vision to MnDOT's long range transportation plan, strategic plan and investment objectives.
Measurement of success
We will measure our progress by:
- Surveying our customers to determine their trust and confidence in MnDOT
- Tracking the successes at delivering projects on time and on budget
- Monitoring the results of managing our capital, operational and project budgets
- Regularly reporting the number of on-the-job placements of minority and female applicants with MnDOT contractors and the number of Disadvantaged Business Enterprises participating in MnDOT's federal projects
