Develop a safe, reliable and sustainable transportation system
We will know we have reached this destination when we reduce fatalities on our roadway system and improve system reliability and efficiency. We will achieve these new safety measures by new and improved technology use and continuous monitoring of the condition of our existing infrastructure.
Measurement of success
We will measure our progress by measuring the number of fatalities and serious injuries on all state and local roads.
Flagship initiative for Safety
Toward Zero Deaths (TZD):Toward Zero Deaths is a multi-agency partnership with a goal to raise awareness of traffic safety issues and develop tools to reduce the number of deaths and injuries resulting from traffic crashes in Minnesota.
